Usos Car Club

Low and slow
since ’92

This is where it started: ten lowriders rolling out of Scott Park in Carson in August 1992. Candy paint, wire wheels, hydraulics and a plaque in the back window that means something. Two-time Lowrider Magazine Club of the Year, and still one of the biggest lowrider clubs in the world.

Shows & cruisesSuper shows, chapter picnics and Sunday cruises are posted on Uso Announcements. Pick Low Riders up there to see only the car side.
The plaqueUso, then Uce. Same team, same scheme, same dream. It’s earned, and the ride under it stays clean.
No color linesKita’s rule from day one. The club has always been about the person before the car, and every kind of person is in it.
Uso Motorcycle Club

Two wheels.
Same blood.

The Uso Motorcycle Club came after the cars and rides under the same plaque. Chrome, paint, patience and pride, just on a different frame. When the family rolls out, the bikes lead.

Ride togetherClub runs, memorial rides and escorts for the car club's biggest shows are posted on the board first.
RepresentThe patch is earned, worn with respect and never disgraces the name Kita built.
Family firstUso means brother. That's the whole rulebook. Everything else follows from it.

Our Story

From Scott Park
to the whole world

1992

August, Scott Park, Carson

Over dinner at Kita’s house, he and Daniel Hunkin decide to start their own club. Ten members roll out of Scott Park in the Harbor Area of Los Angeles. "Uso" is Samoan for blood brother. The membership is mixed from day one, and the requirement for getting in is the person, not the car. The rides still had to be clean.

1990s

"No Color Lines"

The early motto pushes the club, and lowriding itself, past the boundaries of neighborhood and flag colors. Chapters start opening across California and then out of state.

1997

Club of the Year

Lowrider Magazine names Uso its Club of the Year, the first of two. The magazine runs its first full feature on the club the next April.

2002

Ten years. A new spelling.

For the tenth anniversary the family adopts the motto "Same Team, Same Scheme, Same Dream." Around the same time the United Service Organizations sends a cease-and-desist over the name, and partly out of respect for what that organization does for the military after September 11, the plaque becomes Uce: pronounced like deuce without the d, a short way of saying Uso. Same brothers, same blood.

2008

Hall of Fame

Kita is inducted into the Lowrider Hall of Fame with the Leadership Honor at the fourth annual ceremony in Long Beach. By then he had counted 42 chapters at one time and a second Club of the Year.

2016

Tribal King

After his Cadillac is totaled, the family buys and builds him a 1981 Coupe De Ville. It debuts at the Las Vegas Super Show for the club’s 25th anniversary.

2020

Rest easy, Kita

Kita passes on February 8, 2020 in Elk Grove, California, at 61. More than 600 people fill his celebration of life in Roseville, outside Sacramento, two weeks before the world shut down.

2022

Thirty years

The family comes home to Carson for the 30th anniversary. Detroit, flying the plaque since 2007, marks 15 years the same summer.
